I'm in the process of setting up a dual boot system with Windows and Linux, and I'm following a tutorial that suggests using Cloudzilla to back up my data partitioning as the first step. I'm wondering if I actually need to do this. Would a USB drive work better than an external hard drive for the backup? Also, do I need a USB that is at least as large as my computer's internal SSD? Right now, I only have an 8 GB and a 32 GB USB drive. Additionally, will I end up needing two USBs to complete the dual boot setup: one for the Cloudzilla backup and the other to boot Ubuntu? Is there anything else I'll need besides my computer and these two USBs?

There are plenty of ways to back up your Windows PC. If you only have a few important files, just throwing them on a USB should do the trick. But if you're looking for something comprehensive, you might want to use tools like Clonezilla or follow the official Microsoft backup recommendations. As for backing up the whole system, 32GB probably won't cut it, especially if your Windows setup is larger than that.
Thanks for the info! I don’t have any crucial files to back up, but I thought the guide meant backing up the Windows partition before going for the Linux install. Is that actually doable?
