I'm considering getting a USB-C Power Adapter for my iPhone 16 and a new USB-C cable for my laptop, but the prices on the Apple website seem pretty steep. I'm curious if it's a bad idea to opt for cheaper alternatives. Do third-party chargers really make a difference in performance or safety?

I’ve never used Apple chargers either. I mix it up with Anker, Ravpower, and some generic three-in-one chargers. They've all worked perfectly fine for me, no complaints in a decade—definitely worth exploring other options!
I've been using Anker and uGreen chargers for years and they've been great! Apple's chargers are often just overpriced for what they offer. Even the dual charger that comes with a MacBook Air works well for me, so I'd say look into these brands.
It's not that important to use Apple chargers specifically; many reliable third-party ones do the job well. Just make sure it's from a known brand that supports Apple devices.
Same here! Quality over brand names is the way to go.
