Is It Normal for My CPU and GPU Usage to Be So Low While Gaming?

I recently upgraded my setup with an Intel i7 14700 CPU, a 5060 Ti 16GB GPU, and a Crucial 1TB SSD. However, I've noticed that when I play games like Valorant, my CPU and GPU usage is only around 0-8%. Is this normal? My FPS seems to fluctuate quite a bit too. Any insights would be appreciated!

Check your power settings. If you're using a power plan that prioritizes energy saving, switch to the maximum performance plan. Also, make sure your display is connected to your GPU, not your motherboard, as that can affect performance.

I changed my power plan to ultimate performance and plugged my display cable directly into my GPU.

Make sure to update your graphics drivers if you haven't already. This can sometimes fix performance issues that lead to low CPU and GPU usage while gaming.

I've already updated my NVIDIA drivers to the latest version!

It sounds like your GPU might not be utilized properly. If it's idling at such a low usage, there may be a disconnect somewhere in the setup.

Sometimes, drivers don't install correctly, so a full driver update could resolve what's going on. Just double-check everything.

It would be helpful to share your full setup and in-game settings. Knowing these can help troubleshoot the problem better.
