Is It Okay to Adjust My Resume for Java Jobs Even Though I Have .NET Experience?

I'm a software developer with two years of experience in C# and .NET, but I'm currently looking to branch out into Java positions. I've completed academic projects using Java along with Angular, and I'm wondering if it's acceptable to tweak my resume to highlight this experience. For instance, would it be misleading to state that I worked with Java, Spring Boot, and Angular during my time at my last job, even though my actual experience was with .NET and Angular?

Honestly, I’ve landed jobs where I was working with platforms I had never used before, just by showing my problem-solving skills during the interview. If the position interests you, go for it!

Exactly! It’s all about your ability to learn and adapt. Just brush up on your Java skills before the interview.

The tech is similar, but the frameworks can throw you off. .NET is pretty bundled up compared to Java, which has a lot of open-source components. Make sure you familiarize yourself with those to avoid any tricky questions during interviews!

It's definitely helpful to tailor your resume for each job you apply for. Highlight your academic Java experience and how it can relate to what organizations typically use with Angular in .NET. Just remember to be honest about your experience, as you don’t want to be caught off-guard during an interview.

Right, I’ve heard stories of candidates mixing their skills up and getting grilled during interviews. It's risky!
