Is It Okay to Mix Different RAM Brands and Sizes?

Hey folks! I'm currently using 16GB of Corsair DDR4 RAM at 2133MHz (2x8GB), and I'm thinking about adding more memory. I found a set of 2x16GB sticks from a different brand, but I'm curious if I can mix these with my current RAM without issues. If I do, would I have a total of 48GB (2x8GB plus 2x16GB)? My motherboard is the MSI B550 A Pro. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

So, do you really need 48GB of RAM, or would 32GB be enough? Those 2133MHz sticks are pretty slow as well! If you can, it might be better to sell the old ones and get a faster 2x16GB set, like 3200/CL14 or 3600/CL16. Mixing modules can be hit or miss; they might work together, especially due to the lower speed, but it's not guaranteed.

I definitely need the most RAM for rendering in Blender, but that might be a smart move. I'll consider selling the old sticks!

You can usually mix RAM, but it's important to remember that running mismatched RAM may not boost performance. Since the speeds are the same, it should work, but you might not get the best performance for tasks like rendering. Just keep it in mind!

I definitely need as much RAM as possible for rendering in Blender, so I hope it works out!
