Is it okay to mix RAM from different brands?

I'm looking to upgrade my rig to 32GB of RAM and found a Kingston 16GB DDR5 5600MHz stick at a great price. I was wondering if I could mix it with another 16GB stick from a different brand as long as they have the same size and speed. Is it safe to do this, or should I stick with the same brand? I've got no RAM right now and I'm really eager to upgrade!

You can usually mix them as long as the specs are similar, but expect a 2% chance that they won't work well together due to controller compatibility or brand-specific quirks. It's definitely possible, but proceed with caution!

Mixing RAM isn’t recommended, but sometimes you can get lucky and have it work just fine. Just keep an eye out for any issues after you install it. If you can, it’s better to find two sticks from the same brand for peace of mind.

Yeah, I’d suggest just waiting it out for a matching stick if you can. It might save you a headache later!

Technically, you can mix RAM from different brands, but it’s not always a good idea. You might end up facing stability issues down the line, especially if the timings or other specs don’t match well. It's a bit of a gamble!
