I recently replaced the power supply in my workstation PC with a Corsair RM850x. Up until that point, everything was running smoothly. However, shortly after I installed the new PSU, my MSI 2070 Super Gaming X Trio GPU stopped working. It functioned for about 5-10 minutes while gaming before the PC froze. After a hard reset, the GPU failed to initialize entirely. I tested it on another rig, and it appears to be completely dead. My old PSU was a non-modular Thermaltake 630 Watts, and I only used the new modular cables that came with the Corsair PSU. Now, I'm worried about trying to upgrade to a Radeon 7900 XTX after this incident. I've reported everything to both Amazon and Corsair. What are my chances of getting compensation for the GPU death? I'm located in Germany and bought the PSU from Amazon.

Make sure you're checking which cable is active! If you plugged a CPU cable into the GPU socket, that would definitely cause issues, but as you said, if it ran without issue for a few minutes, it's unlikely that's the case. Just to clarify, a wrong plug wouldn't cause slow failure but rather a fast shutdown. Monitor your symptoms closely and keep any proof for your claim!
I get where you're coming from, but keep in mind that GPUs can age and die regardless of power supply changes. The 20 series cards had some known VRAM issues, which could explain the timing of your GPU's failure. If you think the PSU was ever faulty, try measuring its voltages. But the fact that the PC ran for a while does suggest the PSU did its job. If it turns out everything was fine voltage-wise, getting compensation might be difficult.
