Is it okay to run my RTX 2070 with just one fan?

Hey everyone! My RTX 2070 has two fans, but one of them is broken and super loud. Since I don't really game and just do some web browsing and streaming movies, can I safely turn off the broken fan and rely on just the working one until the replacement arrives in a few days? Any advice would be great!

It's not super risky, but just keep in mind that it might overheat and throttle itself since it won’t have as much cooling. Definitely watch the temperatures if you're using it heavily.

Yeah, the broken fan sounds like a blender, so I guess this is okay for now!

If you're not gaming, you'll be just fine using it with only one fan. If you ever decide to game, you might want to replace that broken fan or even zip tie a case fan where the broken one is.

Honestly, that sounds like a smart move! I might try that if it gets too hot.

I recommend just ordering a new fan from Amazon! Replacement is easy, and you can usually find the part number on the back of the fan.

When I had a 2070 Super, I used to set my fan curve so that they wouldn't spin at all below 60 degrees. It kicked in every few minutes and worked fine on one fan, so you should be okay too!
