I've got a small workspace that limits my options, so I'm wondering if I can make a portable monitor my main display. I usually use a 15.6" monitor since I've been working off a laptop. Does anyone have experience with this? Will it be a decent setup, or should I look for something else?

Absolutely, you can use a portable monitor as your main screen! It might not give you the best quality, but if it works for your needs, go for it. Just keep in mind that it might feel a bit cramped if you're doing a lot of multitasking. If you're on a budget, maybe consider picking up a used monitor later on for a better experience.
If you're serious about your setup, I'd suggest investing in a monitor arm that clamps to your desk, and maybe aim for a 24" or 27" screen. This way, you’ll have better ergonomics and can adjust the height, which can make a huge difference!
Totally fine to use a portable monitor! Just remember, it might not be the best possible setup in terms of comfort or image quality. As an alternative, you might want to check out wall mounting options. It's a great way to save desk space without giving up screen real estate.
Why not? There's nothing stopping you from using a portable monitor as your main display. If it suits your needs, that’s what matters!
