I have an i7-14700 paired with a Gigabyte B660M X AX DDR4 motherboard. I'm not really sure about the specifications, especially regarding the VRM, and I'm wondering if it's safe to stick with stock settings for my setup.

Your motherboard isn't really weak; it can actually handle CPUs like the i9 with up to 150W. So, you're good to go at the default settings or even a bit of light overclocking. Just keep an eye on the power limits though!
Yeah, you'll be just fine at stock settings! Just don’t expect to push it hard with heavy overclocking on that board. It should handle 253 watts without a hitch under normal conditions.
Just to clarify, stock settings can pull up to 253 watts, so keep that in mind when monitoring temperatures.
When you say "weak," what exactly do you mean? Because if it can manage the power draw pretty well, I wouldn't stress too much about it as long as you're staying within limits.
I ran my setup in Cinebench for 5 minutes and noticed the VRM MOSFET sensor hit 97 degrees Celsius. Should I be worried?
