I'm using an ASRock B850i motherboard for a small form factor build, which I often move between rooms. To limit unplugging, I've connected a USB hub that accommodates my wireless keyboard charger, mouse charger, controller charger, and a USB microphone. I also have a USB adapter for my speakers.
I'm curious if there are any downsides to this setup in terms of voltage, wattage, or data transfer, particularly since I plan to plug it into a USB 3 port. If everything works fine with this configuration, I would only need to unplug my power, display, and the hub when moving it around, which would be super convenient!

Depending on the quality of your USB hub, there can be some issues with data bandwidth, especially if you're using multiple devices simultaneously. If it's a powered hub, you should be safe from power draw concerns. Just be aware that using too many devices at once might slow down your charging speeds a bit.
Overall, you should be fine! Just make sure to avoid any cheap hubs since they can cause issues. Keeping the load within reasonable limits should also help prevent any wear and tear on your USB ports!
There’s a limit of 127 devices per USB controller, so you’re quite safe on that front! Just keep in mind that if you overload your USB ports, you might run into slower speeds or potential wear over time on the ports themselves, especially if you're using several chargers at once.
Legality? Are we really going to get arrested for too many USBs? Seriously, as long as your USB hub is good quality, it should be just fine. Just make sure you keep an eye on the bandwidth for data transfer. If it works, it works—no worries there!
Using a powered USB hub can definitely help! If you're charging multiple items at once, just know they might charge slower together. But for data transfer, things like your mic or speakers hardly take much bandwidth, so you should be good as long as you have at least USB 2.0.
Totally agree! And yeah, USB 3 slots should definitely handle that without a hitch.

Right? I'm waiting for the USB police to show up any minute now!
