I'm currently finishing up my new AM5 build and I'm wondering if I can just use my existing boot disk without doing a fresh Windows install. I'm upgrading from an i5-0400F to a 7500F, and my boot drive is a 500GB NVMe. Is this going to be a simple plug-and-play situation, or should I expect some complications?

You can absolutely do it, but I wouldn’t recommend it. There are mixed opinions about it, and while it might work, you could run into some odd issues down the line.
You can definitely use your current boot disk, but be prepared for some potential issues like crashes or freezes if you simply plug it in. It’s a good idea to uninstall as many old drivers as you can first. Even then, you might experience slightly worse performance than if you did a fresh install because of leftover files and registry entries. If you were switching between similar AMD CPUs, it would be more seamless, but going from Intel to AM5 can be tricky.
It's mostly plug-and-play, but there's always some risk involved. Just make sure your boot settings are similar, and you might need to adjust them afterward. However, a fresh start is usually the safest route.
Just a heads-up, if you go this route, all the Intel drivers will still be on your drive. There's a chance they might cause some trouble, so fingers crossed they don't activate when you boot!
