Hey everyone! I'm currently working at HCLTech with 2 years of experience and I'm thinking about switching companies. I'm curious if it's realistic for someone with my background to make a move into DevOps, or should I be aiming to gain more experience first? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Your success in transitioning really hinges on the kind of role you're eyeing. I’ve worked in a DevOps role that managed extensive pipelines and faced tons of challenges, and that was a tough jump from my previous help desk job. Currently, I’m in a smaller role that’s easier, but it varies by company.

It really comes down to your skills! While it’s not super common to switch to DevOps this early, it is possible if you've been proactive about learning. I managed to transition after 2 years by spending a lot of my free time diving into various DevOps tools.

Honestly, it depends on the specific roles you're looking at. With 2 years under your belt, the odds might be slim unless you're putting in the effort to learn on your own time. Just sitting back and waiting probably isn’t the best strategy.
