Is it safe to buy a 12V-2×6 cable from eBay?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to find a 12V-2x6 cable for my Seasonic TX1600 PSU, and eBay is the only place that has it in stock. My PC has been black screening lately, and I think it's due to my glass panel making contact with the cable. I managed to adjust it so it no longer touches, but I'm concerned that my cable might be damaged or faulty. I have another 12V-2x6 cable that came with the PSU, but a 90-degree cable would fit my setup better. The seller on eBay has around 200 positive feedback ratings, but I'm still hesitant. Can I trust this purchase or should I just stick with the original cable?

I know it’s frustrating when you want a specific cable! If your current setup works after adjusting the cable, maybe keep using it until you find a verified original Seasonic one. You don’t want to risk damaging your system. Just keep an eye on those black screens!

Just to add, while the seller has positive feedback, it's always a gamble with third-party cables. If you can manage fine with the cable included with your PSU, it might be safer to stick with that until you can get a guaranteed original replacement. Better safe than sorry!

That's a good point. And if you're really concerned, you could always contact Seasonic support to check if they recommend that particular eBay seller or if they have any alternatives.

You should definitely be cautious with PSU cables. Using non-original cables can be risky since pinouts and plug specs can vary. It's recommended to stick to cables that are specifically designed for your PSU model to avoid potential issues that could lead to serious damage. Since your PSU is high wattage, the stakes are even higher!

I hear you! But if the 90-degree cable you're looking at is made by Seasonic, that might change things a bit. They’re usually pretty reliable, but still, it’s best to double-check everything first.

I agree, if it's a genuine Seasonic product, you may be okay. Just make sure it’s fully compatible with your model to minimize risk.
