Is it safe to buy a 5090 from Facebook Marketplace?

I'm considering purchasing a 5090 Aorus Master on Facebook Marketplace for $3100. This price matches what I'd pay after tax at a store, and I've been trying to get one for three months with no luck since they sell out so fast. The seller has a 5-star rating with 15 reviews and claims the item is new, but he mentioned opening the static bag to check the serial numbers and inspect for damage. This worries me since I'm not thrilled about it being advertised as new if it's unsealed. I just don't see how I can be sure if it's actually new or used. He also said he'd provide a receipt, and the warranty isn't registered. I was about to go for it until he mentioned taking it out of the static bag. What do you all think?

For that price, I'd want to test it out in person for at least an hour or two. Without that, I wouldn't risk the purchase.

The age of the card might not be a big deal. Even if it’s a few months old, if it works, it shouldn't matter too much. But definitely check the receipt to verify when it was bought.

Sure, but it could’ve been stressed in a mining rig for three months, which is concerning!
