Is it safe to buy a used i9 13900k from an RMA?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU for 3D modeling in programs like Autodesk Revit. Currently, I'm using an i5 12600k, but I've been offered a sealed, unused i9 13900k that came from a previous RMA process. My main concern is whether these CPUs still have the degrading bug that some users have mentioned. Since it's a private seller, there's no guarantee on the one I'm buying. Also, I plan to upgrade my cooler from a Liquid Freezer II 240 to the 360 version, as I've heard it might be needed for this CPU. What do you think?

If that CPU has been run on any BIOS versions before the last few updates, it might have degraded somewhat, and that's often irreversible. Who's to say the new BIOS is truly free of issues? Honestly, it’s a gamble. Just make sure you’re comfortable with the risks.

The CPU is sealed and unused from the RMA, so I think it should be fine, right?

Intel claims their latest BIOS updates have fixed the issues with the i9, but it seems like it's the fifth time they're saying that. Some users still report problems occasionally even after updates. So, just be cautious!
