Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on cleaning my PC. I've used a vacuum cleaner set to blow before, but I'm starting to have second thoughts about it. My main concerns are regarding static electricity; I've heard that it only becomes an issue if the vacuum touches the components. I'll definitely keep it away from my PC. Also, a local computer shop suggested I should stabilize the GPU fans while cleaning, and I'm considering using a small wooden stick for this. The reason I'm exploring this method instead of using canned air or hiring a pro is my dad's strong preference for this approach. If you have any tips on how to clean without risking my PC, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

I’ve been cleaning my PC for years and here's my approach: I keep the vacuum cleaner a good half-foot away on full blast to suck up dust while I dust the outside. I sometimes blast air through the fans too, but used to let them spin way too fast, which can be risky. Now I keep them steady and use an anti-static dust brush. Just make sure your PC is connected to a surge protector to ground it. No issues so far!
I got a rechargeable air duster from AliExpress for around £15, and it works wonders for cleaning my computer and even Lego sets! Just take it outside when you use it. Personally, I’d stay away from canned air since sometimes it spits out a bit of liquid, and I'm not sure how a vacuum on blow would affect things. Better safe than sorry!

That's an interesting method! But just to clarify, do you prefer to suck or blow when it comes to cleaning?
