Is It Safe to Download an Editing Pack from a YouTuber on Google Drive?

I found an editing pack on Google Drive that I'm considering downloading. It belongs to a former YouTuber who made AMVs and shared it as a parting gift after retiring. The pack is public and includes a variety of assets such as images, audio, video files, and Adobe resources. It's been available for about a year, and while it seems benign, I'm worried about the safety of downloading content from someone based in Russia. Does the public nature of the file make it safer? Would it be alright to go ahead and download it?

Honestly, this feels like a question with no clear answer. Just because it’s public doesn’t mean it’s safe. Downloading files from someone you don’t really know online can be risky, especially from someone overseas. It might be best to exercise caution here.

It's really up to you, but remember to scan everything with an antivirus after downloading. Also, make sure you’re not downloading anything that looks fishy. Just use caution!

I totally get what you’re saying, but I wouldn’t trust anything recommended by a YouTuber. It’s just too risky, you know? Better to be safe than sorry!

You can grab it if you want, but make sure to run it through an antivirus to be safe. Just steer clear of any .exe files, as those can carry malware.
