Is it safe to dual-boot Linux Mint on a hard drive used for games?

I'm planning to dual-boot Linux Mint Cinnamon alongside Windows, but I'm a bit concerned. I have a hard drive that I primarily use for my games, and I'm wondering if it's alright to install Linux on that same drive. Will Windows still be able to access those game files if I do? I'm new to dual-booting and I'm really worried about messing things up with my games or Windows. Any advice?

It's totally fine to dual-boot Linux Mint on that hard drive! Just keep in mind that sharing the same drive for games isn't generally recommended. Even though you can access the files from both OS, it's safer to keep Linux and Windows installations separate to avoid any conflicts. Also, definitely back up your important files before proceeding, just in case. It's better to be safe, especially with games that might not be easily redownloaded!

Thanks for the reassurance! Just to clarify, I have Windows installed on an NVMe drive and a separate HDD for games. Would you still recommend keeping them separate?
