I recently had my Microsoft account hacked, mainly due to my own mistakes. The email tied to the account was changed, and my original email was removed. Although I've deleted suspicious files and scanned my computer with Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, I was fortunate enough to log back into my account using my old password. I added my old email back, but due to some issues with Minecraft, the account is suspended for a month. I want to delete the compromised email but it's connected to my Steam account and several others. Thankfully, there's no personal data linked to it, and I'm already updating my accounts to a new email. My main concern is whether it's safe to keep using my Microsoft account and email until I can delete it next month, or if it's too risky and the hackers might still have access to them.

Definitely change your password and set up some security questions. Make sure to log out from all devices and enable multi-factor authentication (MFA). Once you do that, you should be safe using your account for now. Just keep an eye on any unusual activity.
I tried that, but Microsoft has locked me out of editing account info for 30 days after they changed the email. Do you think it’s risky to keep using it during this time?
