Is It Safe to Leave a Power Supply Exposed for a Few Days?

I recently built a PC for my girlfriend, and it turns out the power supply unit (PSU) is too big for the case and doesn't fit. For now, I've hooked it up to the motherboard outside the case just to check the fans and everything works perfectly. However, I'm curious: is it safe to leave the PSU exposed while waiting for a new one? Can it stay like this for a couple of days without causing any issues? Thanks in advance for your help!

Yeah, it's totally fine to leave it exposed for a few days. Just make sure it’s in a safe spot where it won't get bumped or touched unexpectedly.

Thanks for confirming! I’ll keep it in a safe area.

I've run setups in open air with everything exposed, and it worked fine for months. Just avoid touching it while it's powered on, and you’re golden!

Generally, this shouldn't be an issue since there are caseless PC setups out there. Just be careful not to touch anything while it's running!

As long as no one can accidentally touch it and there are no pets around, you should be good. Just keep an eye on it to make sure nothing weird happens!

Appreciate the tip! I’ll make sure to keep the area clear.
