Hey everyone! I'm currently signed out of OneDrive on my Windows 11 computer. I don't really trust it, so I moved my folders from OneDrive into my documents folder. But somehow, OneDrive reattached itself to my documents folder again. When I look at the address bar, it's still linked!
I want to know if it's safe to create a new folder outside of my documents folder and move all my files there. Will doing this mess with my registry or affect my computer's memory? Thanks for any advice!

Why not just uninstall OneDrive altogether if you don't want to use it? That way, you won't have to worry about it reattaching to your folders. It worked for me, and I haven’t looked back since!
If you create a new folder properly outside of the OneDrive ecosystem, you shouldn't have any issues. Just make sure you're regularly backing up your files elsewhere. I've been using OneDrive for years without losing anything, but I get why you might not trust it after past experiences.
You can definitely create a new folder outside of the OneDrive structure. Just make sure to back up your data regularly! If you’re having trust issues with OneDrive, moving your files is a smart move. Just keep in mind some users have had data loss problems when not backing up, but if you’re careful, you should be fine!
Thanks for the response! Yeah, I've had some terrible experiences with cloud software, so I'm just playing it safe.

Thanks for the insight! Your experience gives me a bit of hope, but I'm still cautious for my own peace of mind.
