I'm building a PC with a Ryzen 5 3500x processor, a GTX 1660ti graphics card, 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, one HDD, one SSD, one NVME SSD, and three fans. I'm wondering if using a C-tier power supply unit (PSU) is safe for this setup.

Yeah, you should be fine with a C-tier PSU for your build. Just look for something in the 550-650w range to ensure you have enough power. The components you have don't draw too much energy, so a decent quality C-tier unit should work well.

I’ve actually seen C-tier PSUs working with high-end setups like an RTX 4090. While it’s not ideal, they can still deliver stable electricity most of the time. Just make sure it's not from an unknown brand, and you should be okay.

I’ve used a few Apevia PSUs before, which I consider C-tier, and while one died in a year, another has lasted ages. If you're on a budget, C-tier might be a reasonable route, but keep in mind you could run into reliability issues.

In practice, the differences between A, B, and C tiers aren't huge for most casual users. Your setup isn't demanding a lot of power, so something like the MSI MAG A550BN is a good fit. Just avoid really sketchy brands and you should be good!
