Is It Safe to Use a Damaged USB-C Charging Cable Temporarily?

I have an ASUS 100W USB-C laptop charger (model A20-100P1A), and I've noticed that the USB-C cable is starting to tear near the connector. You can check out the damage in the attached photo. While the laptop is still charging perfectly, I know this exposed area is a potential hazard and may eventually fail. I have a few questions: is it safe for me to keep using the cable temporarily if I wrap it with electrical tape? Do I need to replace the entire charger, or can I just swap out the cable while keeping the adapter and power brick? Also, could you recommend any reliable cables that are available in India? Thanks!

Just a heads up on the wires inside your cable: there are three of them (black, blue, and white). If those inner black and white wires are showing but the blue is still good, you're probably okay to use it as long as you're careful. But definitely look for a replacement soon!

Yeah, it's generally safe to use for now. The visible damage is mostly on the shielding and one of the insulated conductors. I'd suggest getting a new cable eventually, but if the blue sheathing is still intact, you should be fine for the moment.
