I'm currently using an iPhone 6s and an iPad Air 2, both stuck on iOS 15, and I want to know if it's generally okay to download older versions of apps from the App Store. I only need the basic functionality of the apps, so I'm curious about their compatibility and safety. Is downloading older versions a viable option, especially for critical apps like banking apps?

If Apple allows you to download an older version, it's generally supported and should work fine.
Apple is pretty strict about app version compatibility. If you can download it, it should function correctly. However, keep in mind that all electronic devices reach a point where they become obsolete. It’s a tough reality we face now.
Yeah, it's unfortunate how quickly things become outdated. I’m worried about my essential apps too, especially banking ones.

Thanks! I just want to clarify the consensus on this, especially since I rely on my banking app. Here’s an example of what I was referring to.
