Is it safe to visit pirated websites on Linux Mint without antivirus?

I'm curious whether using Linux Mint makes me immune to viruses if I frequently visit pirated websites for streaming and downloading. I used to use Windows 10 with Bitdefender and a VPN, but I've switched to Linux. Online, I read that Linux is generally safe from viruses, but I remember Bitdefender blocking threats when I visited those sketchy sites on Windows. Can I safely navigate these websites without any antivirus on Linux Mint?

Using a virtual machine is a smart idea! You can sandbox your risky browsing and keep your main system safe. Don't forget to use a firewall as well. That way, if you come across any malware, it should be contained within the virtual machine and won't affect your main OS.

Linux can get malware, but it’s rarer. Most attacks target Windows since it has a much bigger user base. Generally, if you stick to safe browsing habits and avoid running untrusted scripts, you should be alright.

It's true that you can browse those torrent sites, but I recommend keeping an eye on security practices. Use strong passwords, stay updated with security patches, and be cautious about downloads. Antivirus is less common on Linux, but there are options available if you're worried.

While Linux is generally less targeted by viruses than Windows, it’s not completely immune. You can still run into trouble, especially if you download files from untrustworthy sites. Always remain cautious and don't download random files without scanning them first.

Yes, you can visit those sites without antivirus, but just remember that some risks still exist. Avoid downloading anything you don't trust completely, and make sure you're aware of the implications of piracy as well!
