Hey everyone! I'm seriously considering making the leap from Windows to a Linux distribution on my PC. I've been looking at options like cashyOS and Pop!_OS, but honestly, I'm feeling a bit hesitant. I mainly use my computer for gaming and some coding, so I'm curious if you all think it's a worthwhile switch. I'd appreciate any honest feedback or experiences you can share!

Before you jump in, ask yourself if you're ready to adopt a mindset of learning and troubleshooting. If you're up for it, then Linux could be a great choice. Otherwise, staying with Windows isn't a bad option either!

If you're looking for a good all-around option, consider trying Kubuntu. It's basically Ubuntu but using the KDE desktop environment, making it user-friendly. If gaming is your main focus, you might also check out Bazzite for a more gaming-oriented experience.

I'd advise holding off on Pop!_OS for now since I've heard its desktop environment can be a bit buggy. For beginners, I'd recommend looking into Debian or Ubuntu-based distros like Linux Mint or Zorin. Check out Distrosea for a preview of various options. Just remember, transitioning to Linux may come with challenges, especially with hardware compatibility, but the effort is totally worth it!

I switched to cashyOS after Windows 10 support ended, and overall, it's been pretty smooth. Just a heads up, I ran into some issues like GTA V multiplayer not working due to anti-cheat software. Dota 2 and CS:GO are fine, though. Also, I had trouble with the PC waking up from sleep mode sometimes, where the login screen wouldn’t show. Other than that, it's been a better experience for me than Windows!
