My RTX 2060 Super is showing some high temperatures during gaming and development tasks. I recently ran a benchmark and got a score of 5031 at 1080p Extreme. The GPU hits around 80 degrees Celsius during stress tests and goes up to 83 degrees. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 9600X and 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000MHz. Given that the GPU is a bit older and I can't upgrade right now, should I re-paste it to lower the temperatures, or is this acceptable for now? I use it for Unreal Engine, Blender, and gaming, with FPS in Star Citizen ranging from 30 to 100.

80°C is quite high for your GPU, so I would recommend re-pasting. Just remember to wait until the card is completely cooled down before you open it up to avoid damaging any thermal pads.
For sure, re-paste it! Anything over 80 degrees is pushing it. If you're not experiencing any performance dips, you should be fine, but a fresh application of thermal paste can only help.
Honestly, I think it's still within safe operating limits. Some say it's overhyped to re-paste GPUs, so you might not need to rush into it unless you notice performance issues. Just my two cents!
I get what you're saying, but maintaining lower temps can definitely extend the life of the card!
Definitely consider re-pasting it. Since your GPU is older, fresh thermal paste could help lower those temperatures and improve longevity. Just make sure to handle it carefully!
Good call! I did the same with my older GPU and saw a noticeable drop in temps.

Yeah, I've made that mistake before. Waiting until it cools is crucial!
