Is it time to replace my old PSU?

I have an EVGA Supernova G2 1000W power supply that I've been using since around 2012/2013. Lately, my PC has been having trouble rebooting reliably; often, I have to force shut it down with the power button, and it sometimes takes a couple of tries to boot into Windows. I've checked my boot drive with CrystalDisk, and it appears fine. I've experienced these boot issues more frequently since moving to AM5, and while I had an occasional glitch during my AM4 build, it was pretty rare. I was planning to replace the PSU eventually for the 12V 2x6 plug, but I'm not sure if I should do it now. Would replacing the PSU be a wise move?

If your PSU were faulty, you'd likely see it cutting off completely under heavy loads or not powering on. Boot issues like yours are probably tied to other components or possibly Windows/driver problems. I'd recommend doing a fresh Windows installation before you consider replacing anything.

That's a good idea! I did a fresh install almost a year ago, so Microsoft updates might have caused some hiccups. I’m planning to try a fresh install tonight to see if it helps. I also turned off fast boot and I’m not running any overclocks, so I hope that helps!
