I'm in the market for new RAM for my laptop, currently running 2x8GB at 3200 MHz. I have a few options: a single 32GB stick for 57 CAD, a kit of 2x16GB for 100 CAD, or two separate 32GB sticks for 114 CAD. I realize 64GB may be more than I really need, but I want dual channel support for better performance. The price difference between the 1x32GB and the 2x16GB kit isn't huge, so I'd appreciate any advice on what to choose. My main uses are gaming and professional software that requires heavy multitasking. Thanks!

Check out this kit of 2x16GB RAM for CAD$80. It’s slightly lower latency, but still a solid deal, especially if you're looking for brand reliability like Vengeance or others. Plus, it’s easier to ensure compatibility with standard spec RAM.
I'd steer clear of the single stick option. Stick to paired kits, as they've been tested to work well together, ensuring you get that dual channel performance you're after. It's usually more reliable than mixing individual sticks.
Exactly! If you mix and match sticks, there's no guarantee they'll work together in dual channel. Same speed and brand is key for compatibility.

True! Many laptops only accept JEDEC or standard spec RAM, so going for lower latency might not give you much advantage anyway.
