Is it time to update my graphics card drivers?

I've got an RTX 3070 OC Eagle that hasn't seen a driver update since version 572.60. I ran into major issues last time I tried to update—the screen went completely black, and it was a big deal online. I managed to cancel the update just in time, but I'm now hesitant. The latest version is 581.80, and I'm worried about potential problems. Should I go for the update?

Yeah, I think you should update. The latest versions usually fix bugs and improve compatibility. Just make sure to create a system restore point before updating! That way, if something goes wrong, you can roll back to the previous version easily.

It sounds like your current drivers are giving you some trouble. The weird fan noises and screen flickering could be a sign that an update might help, but given your experience, I'd recommend checking online forums for reports about the stability of the new version. Sometimes, users post their experiences after an update, which could help you decide if it's worth the risk.

I would go for it but do some research first. Look up if other users with the same card have had success or issues after updating to 581.80. If they report mostly positive feedback, it might be safe to try.
