I'm currently using a 5600x processor and while I don't experience bottlenecks in most games at 1440p or 2160p resolutions, Cities Skylines 2, which is a resource-heavy and poorly optimized game, really struggles. I've been searching for a 5700x3D or 5800x3D to upgrade but the options are limited to overpriced used units, making it hard to justify the cost. Besides gaming, I also produce music and encounter bottlenecks there as well. I'm uncertain whether to stick with AMD or consider Intel for my next upgrade. Any advice?

If you're still on the AM4 platform, it might be worth thinking about upgrading entirely to a new platform. Intel's newer chips like the 13600K can really boost your performance without worrying about bottlenecks. DDR5 prices are high right now, so that's something to keep in mind too. Alternatively, if you consider AM5, going for the X3D models could be a great choice, especially if you can snag a 7500X3D from MicroCenter—it outperforms the 5700X3D!
Definitely consider the X3D route! It's a solid option if you want to stick with AMD.
Finding a good solution can be tricky once you're at the end of a socket. You could look into the 5500X3D, but depending on your productivity needs, it may not be the best upgrade.

That sounds interesting! I wonder how much of a performance boost I'd really see moving to Intel. But yeah, DDR5 isn't cheap right now.
