Hey everyone, I'm considering selling off my current AM4 setup to switch to AM5. My current gear includes an R7 5700X3D processor, a B450 Aorus motherboard, 16GB of 3600MHz RAM, and a 9070XT GPU. I snagged the 5700X3D for a great price, but now I'm thinking about selling my CPU, motherboard, and RAM. The upgrade would only cost me an additional $80-100, which would get me an MSI B850 motherboard, a 9600X processor, and 32GB of 6000MHz CL30 RAM. This change would not only future-proof my setup but also likely enhance resale value without significant performance loss. I'm gaming at 1440p, so any thoughts?

Sounds like a solid plan! You shouldn't notice any performance drop; in fact, it's likely you'll see a minimal improvement with the new setup. So, if you're looking to future-proof your rig, this could be a good way to go!
Honestly, I wouldn't rush into it unless you're getting a higher-tier GPU. If you're purely gaming, the 5700X3D still holds up really well, and unless you're jumping to something like a 9800X3D with a top-notch GPU, the upgrade might not be life-changing. But if you're itching for something new, go for it! Just make sure you're fully committed to the upgrade and balance the costs adequately.

Yeah, sometimes it's worth it just to scratch that upgrade itch! If you're gonna upgrade, go all out for the best performance.
