Is it time to upgrade from my 5800X to a 7800X3D?

I currently have an AMD 5800X on an ASUS X570 motherboard, along with 64GB of 3600MHz RAM and an RTX 3090. I recently sold my MSI laptop that had an i9 11th gen and a 3070, and the performance difference I'm experiencing now is incredible. However, I'm considering selling my CPU and GPU to switch to a 7800X3D and a 5070. What do you all think? Should I wait for the AM6 platform in 3 to 4 years? Also, will my X570 motherboard still be adequate? I hope I explained myself well (I'm Brazilian and tried my best).

If you're gaming at 1440p, your current setup should hold you over for a while. You might consider a new GPU like the 5070, but it really depends on what you plan to play and at what settings. I'm on a similar path and I'm excited to see how my upgrade works out!

If you feel your current setup is lacking for your needs, go ahead and buy the upgrade! But if it’s working fine, maybe hold off until you see what the next-gen parts offer.

Before deciding, it’d help to know what games you're playing and at what resolution or refresh rate. Your performance can vary widely based on those factors. Plus, what settings you're using is also important!

Switching to a 7800X3D from your current 5800X means you'll also need a new motherboard and RAM since you're moving from AM4 to AM5. Just keep that in mind before you decide to sell your current setup!

Yeah, it’s a whole new platform, so it's not just the CPU upgrade. Make sure you're ready for the additional costs.

I'm in the same boat with competitive gaming! I hit around 250-290 FPS for CS2, especially on maps like Inferno and Ancient. With your specs, you're in a good spot, but if you need more power or want to stream better, an upgrade could be worth it. Just make sure it's going to benefit you in the games you care about!

Right! A higher-level CPU might help a bit more with streaming performance, especially under load.
