Hey everyone! I currently have a 3060 Ti and I'm wondering if I should upgrade it now due to recent spikes in GPU prices. I don't mind waiting, but I'm concerned that prices might continue to rise. If I do decide to upgrade, what would be a worthwhile option? Just for context, I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB of RAM, and I'm using a 1080p 144Hz monitor. Thanks for any advice!

If your 3060 Ti is meeting your needs, you might as well stick with it a bit longer. However, if you're feeling like it’s not performing up to par, check out performance charts to see your upgrade options. Personally, I think cards like the 9070 XT or 5070 Ti would provide a solid boost, especially with your powerful CPU.

If you can handle it, consider going for a 5070 Ti and a 1440p monitor. That setup would really enhance your gaming experience. Make sure you choose something high quality like OLED or IPS for the best visuals!

I recently switched from a 3060 Ti to a 9060 XT and I’m glad I did. The 8GB of VRAM on the 3060 Ti was limiting me, plus with prices expected to rise, I figured it was a smart move. Just curious, how has the upgrade been treating you?

So far, so good! The performance boost has been really noticeable.

Honestly, upgrading your monitor might make more sense than getting a new GPU right now. The 3060 Ti is still solid for 1080p gaming, and your Ryzen 7 is pretty powerful. If you’re going to upgrade, consider a 1440p monitor to really see what your system can do. You’ll get better visuals without rushing into a GPU change just yet.

True, monitors will always be available. Plus, I heard that Nvidia is scaling back on GPU production next quarter.

With Nvidia cutting down production, GPU prices are definitely expected to rise. If you're anticipating needing a new GPU in the next 1-2 years, now might be the time to invest. Just make sure to ask yourself whether you plan on upgrading to 1440p or if you're aiming for max settings on games. If not, waiting could be wise.
