I've always believed that a GPU is more important than a CPU when it comes to gaming, especially since CPU clock speeds haven't changed much lately. Right now, I'm rocking an i9-9900k at 3.6 GHz and just updated to an RTX 5090. I'm trying to make sure there are no bottlenecks in my gaming performance. Are there any significant upgrades in Intel processors that would make it worth switching?

Yes, upgrading is a smart move. Just keep in mind you might need a new motherboard too. Your current setup could struggle at 4K, and you’ll lose a lot of potential with the 5090.
Honestly, the 9900k isn’t cutting it in 2025 for most games, even at 4K. You should definitely consider upgrading. Your new GPU will be underutilized without a better CPU.

Totally agree! You're just wasting the power of the RTX 5090 with that old CPU.
