Is It Time to Upgrade My GPU and CPU for Better Performance?

I'm considering an upgrade since I'm currently using a GTX 1660 Super with a Ryzen 5 2600, and I'm looking to game on high to ultra settings at 1080p. I want to invest in budget-friendly components that can handle these requirements and allow for a future upgrade path. What do you think I should prioritize upgrading first?

First off, what's your budget for a GPU? A used RTX 3060 with 12GB can be a great choice if you're trying to keep costs down. But it all depends on your motherboard and PSU too!

I could stretch to around $700 max for both GPU and CPU upgrades. I've got an MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max mobo and a 600W PSU.

If you're on a budget, going for an RTX 4060 or even a 5060 would be solid options. They should give you the performance boost you're looking for without breaking the bank!
