Is It Time to Upgrade My PC for Better Performance?

Hey everyone! I won a PC in a competition last year, and here's what I'm working with:
- A specific game-themed case that I'm not particularly fond of
- An i5 13600KF CPU
- A 750W power supply
- A Palit GamingPro 5070 12GB GPU
- 32GB of DDR5 GSkill Trident G5 Royal RAM
- An off-brand fan cooler

I recently got a LG45GX monitor with 5k2k resolution, but my games aren't running at ultra settings anymore, and I'm noticing some lag during graphic design and video editing tasks.

So, I had the "brilliant" idea to finally build the PC of my dreams from when I was 17! I'm thinking of upgrading to:
- A Corsair 4500x Case (planning to tint it for a sleek look with curved glass)
- An i7 14700K CPU
- A Corsair RM850e power supply
- A Gigabyte Windforce 5080 SFF 16GB GPU
- Keeping my current RAM
- A Corsair ICUE Link Titan LCD

I have a few questions before I dive in:
1. Am I going overboard with this upgrade?
2. Should I upgrade my CPU, or is my current i5 sufficient for a 5080? I've heard it's fine but that improvements exist with the 14700K.
3. Is the RM850e power supply enough for my configuration?
4. Seriously, am I going overboard?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Honestly, upgrading your CPU to the i7 seems a bit unnecessary since your i5 13600KF is still quite capable. You might want to hold off until the AMD Zen 6 CPUs come out, which could give you even better options. As for the power supply, 850W is fine, but I'd recommend bumping it up to 1000W to give you some headroom just in case. Also, consider what you actually need for your work—do you need all those cores? Maybe think about whether you'd benefit more from going for a higher-tier GPU like the 5090 instead.

That's a fair point! I’ve thought about waiting on the CPU until there’s something better. I’m leaning towards keeping the 5080 since the 5090 is way overpriced here. What’s the advantage of going for a 1000W PSU over an 850W?
