Is It Time to Upgrade My PC’s Cooling System Due to Overheating?

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a prebuilt PC in 2023, but I'm having some serious overheating issues in 2026. My computer crashes when I'm playing demanding games like Crimson Desert and Cyberpunk 2077. I'm really concerned because my CPU cores are hitting over 90 degrees Celsius and my GPU is around 86 degrees Celsius.

Here's what I'm currently working with:

- **Power Supply:** 1000w ATX 80 Plus Gold
- **CPU Cooler:** CM MasterLiquid ML240L
- **Fans:** 4x CM MasterFans
- **Case:** Cooler Master TD500
- **GPU:** RTX 4080
- **Storage:** 2tb NVMe M.2
- **RAM:** 32gb 3200mhz
- **Motherboard:** Asus B760 D4 Series
- **CPU:** Intel Core i7-12700F

I'm considering replacing my CPU cooler and fans with something higher quality and quieter. Currently, I have the following in my Amazon cart:

- Noctua NH-D15 G2 Dual Tower CPU Cooler
- 4 Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 Fans.

1. Do you think these upgrades would help with my overheating problems?
2. Is there a better option out there that would suit my setup?
3. Am I overlooking any potential bottlenecks in my system?

Thanks for your help!

If you're experiencing sudden high temps after your cooler was working fine, it could be a pump failure or blockage in the cooling loop. If it's new, you might not need an expensive Noctua model. There are cheaper dual tower coolers that perform just as well. Be sure to check online for comparisons!

Thanks for that! If my GPU is running hot too, does that suggest it's more of a system-wide cooling issue rather than just a problem with the AIO?
