Hey everyone! I'm considering whether I should upgrade my setup since I'm thinking about getting an Nvidia 5070. Currently, I'm using an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G paired with an ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/AC motherboard and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Do you think I need a newer and faster CPU and possibly a different motherboard for a better gaming experience? Thanks for your thoughts!

In the US, the 5800XT is pretty affordable on Amazon right now. It's a solid choice for AM4 users. But honestly, unless you find some really good deals, it might not be worth investing in a dying platform.

Wait, are you talking about the X version? Also, I totally agree, investing in a dead platform isn't wise.

The Ryzen 7 5700G is still quite capable, but keep in mind that AM4 is becoming outdated. If you're planning to upgrade, you might want to wait for a more powerful option like the 9600X3D, or consider getting a 9700X to pair with the 5070.

And don't forget, you might want to look into getting 32GB of DDR5 for even better performance!

If you can snag a used 5800X3D for around $250, that's a decent way to go if you plan on gaming in 2K or 4K. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is even better, but it's harder to find and pricier! Here's a video that explains more: https://youtu.be/MUNkC_7BMCw
