Is it time to upgrade to AM5 with my failing CPU?

Hey everyone! I'm currently dealing with a major issue: my Ryzen 5600x is crashing my system when specific cores go idle, and I can't get even a BSOD before it happens. I've managed to stabilize things a bit with some BIOS tweaks, but my performance has really dropped. I'm wondering if I should make the jump to AM5 for reliability or just stick with AM4 and replace the CPU? To give you some context, I also have a 7800xt in this rig and another PC with a 3070, both on AM4. If I upgrade the second system to AM5, I could swap CPUs between them, but I'm not sure if the problem could be related to my motherboard instead of the CPU. I'm feeling pretty stressed about this—thanks for any advice!

It sounds like you've got a tricky situation with two setups! Have you considered just swapping the CPUs between your rigs before deciding to upgrade? It might help you identify if the CPU is the real issue here or if it’s something like the motherboard or PSU causing the crashes. *Plus, it could save you some cash!*

Yeah, but what if the event viewer is pointing to the CPU? I know it might be the motherboard or PSU too, but everything looks solid with the PSU.
