Is it Worth Buying a "Like New" Monitor from Amazon Resale?

I'm looking to buy a 480hz OLED LG monitor at a great price through Amazon Resale, but I'm unsure if it's a good idea. Has anyone had experiences with purchasing monitors this way? Are there safety concerns I should be aware of? Thanks for any insights!

It's often risky, especially with OLED. Monitors are usually returned for a reason, which could be issues like bad banding or gamma problems. Additionally, you might end up with dead pixels or power delivery issues, like the monitor powering off unexpectedly. There's a chance of getting a completely different or broken monitor if someone swapped it.

I've been buying refurbished monitors for the last four years. Out of several, only one had to be returned, and it was easy. The others have been perfect. I've got three monitors now: two MSI 27" curved and one 32" 4K, all running at 144Hz or more.

Before you buy, definitely check the warranty. If getting a refurbished monitor significantly reduces your warranty, it might not be worth the deal for me.

When I bought a monitor labeled as 'acceptable', it turned out to be in perfect condition. Amazon's return process is pretty straightforward, so if there are any issues, just inspect it well to make sure it hasnโt been swapped out with a different model.

For monitors, you can look at the total power-on time. I bought a refurbished 1440p, 165Hz monitor a year ago, and the total power-on time, including repairs, was only 9 hours!

You can usually return it if the monitor isn't in great shape. Also, I bought a similar model new and got 45% cashback through Capital One Shopping, which you might want to check out!
