I'm considering purchasing a PC with an i5 9600k processor, an RTX 4070 12GB graphics card, and 32GB of RAM for €800. I know there's a potential bottleneck with the CPU, but I'm planning to upgrade it to an i5 14600k later for around €700. My question is, will the combination of the i5 9600k and the RTX 4070 be playable until I can upgrade? Also, will the i5 14600k and RTX 4070 be good enough for gaming at 1440p on max settings for any game?

Honestly, I think this setup might be a bit of a money sink. The RTX 4070 isn't really the best choice for playing games at 1440p max settings. You're essentially paying €800 for the 4070, while planning to replace everything else later on. Might not be the best way to go about it.
I see your point, but I can build another PC from my old parts. Plus, there's no RTX 4070 available in my country now, only the RTX 5070 for about €850-900.
Not sure this is going to be worth it, honestly. You could probably find slightly more expensive pre-built systems that come with a much better configuration. Going with the i5 9600k feels like a waste of time and money. The i5 14600k is solid, but I have my doubts about the 4070 performing well at 1440p max settings. Have you thought about going for a 5070 instead? That might be a smarter option.
What would be a good combo for solid 1440p gameplay?
If you can stretch your budget a bit, I'd recommend looking at the RTX 5070 instead. It's newer, has warranty, and might give you better performance overall.
Is the 5070 even good enough for 1440p?
Could I build a better PC for around €1500 to handle 1440p?
