Hey folks! I've been having issues with my 2018 MacBook Pro keyboard where keys randomly double or triple type, especially on the left side. It's super frustrating—sometimes even the backspace deletes multiple characters. I found out there was a recall in 2019 for similar keyboard problems, but I missed that. Now I got quoted $700 for a repair, which feels way too steep. On the flip side, a third-party repair shop offered to fix it for around $400-$450. Has anyone faced this keyboard issue? Can I trust a third-party repair for this, or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new laptop? Thanks in advance!

Honestly, for that price, you might want to consider investing in a MacBook Air with the M-series chip. They’re significantly better and will receive more support going forward. Buying new might be a smarter move than pouring cash into an older model.
I get that, but I just can’t justify buying a new one when I spent $2k on this one, especially with specs like 1TB SSD and 32GB RAM. I'd like to keep it a bit longer!
