I'm considering whether I should spend the extra $50 to upgrade from the Crucial P310 to the Crucial T500 SSD. Is the investment worth it?

For me, it wasn't worth the extra cost. I don't prefer QLC drives or ones without DRAM, but trends are going that way. If you're a casual user and don't fill the drive to max capacity, the longevity shouldn't be an issue. You might find better and faster options by the time it fails anyway.
I went all out and have three Crucial T500 NVMe SSDs in a RAID 5 configuration. I had to adjust my motherboard setup to support it, but it's been worth it for me. There are plenty of SSD options out there, so if you're looking for a solid drive but don't want to shell out for a T500, consider alternatives like the Patriot P400 Lite which is also TLC.
Shopping for NVMe drives is so tricky! I just want a reliable 2TB drive for my OS and games, and I've been unhappy with my current WD SN770. Any suggestions?
It really depends on what you plan to do with your SSD. The T500 is a newer model with DRAM, which makes it great for handling large file transfers and operating systems, while the P310 is better suited for gaming but has slower write speeds. If you're looking for a long-lasting drive, go for the TLC technology of the T500.
My setup is mostly for gaming and slight productivity. Would the T500 still be a good fit for me?

I really hope it stays that way! I don't want high DIY computer costs to become the norm.
