Is it worth repasting my RX 6700 XT to fix high hotspot temps?

I'm considering repasting the thermal paste on my RX 6700 XT. After playing Hunt Showdown today, I noticed the fans ramping up significantly just in the main menu. Checking Radeon Adrenaline, I saw that the hotspot temperature was about 40 degrees higher than the usual GPU temp. I got this card from eBay, and the seller claimed they hadn't used it much. I've tried adjusting the fan curves and undervolting with no luck. Should I just repaste, or would replacing the thermal pads be necessary too? Any additional methods to help lower the hotspot temp would be appreciated. Also, if you have any recommendations for good thermal paste brands or links to helpful videos, that would be great!

The main challenge is finding the right thickness for the thermal pads. You might consider using thermal putty if you're unsure about the pad thickness. It can add some convenience and flexibility! Plus, repasting alone could help, but don't underestimate the thermal pads, especially if they haven't been changed in a while.

Do you think just doing the repaste might be sufficient to solve the overheating issue?
