Is it worth switching to an ATX 3.1 PSU for my new PC build?

I'm in the process of building a new PC and I'm debating whether I should upgrade my power supply unit (PSU) from ATX 3.0 to ATX 3.1. I have an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card and the PSU I was considering is the XPG Core Reactor II 850W, which is ATX 3.0 and doesn't have the 12V-2x6 connector. I'm unsure if it's perfectly fine to use the ATX 3.0 with a 12VHPWR cable, or if switching to ATX 3.1 is a necessary upgrade for reliability. What do you think?

What's the price on that PSU you're looking at? The NZXT C850 Gold ATX 3.1 is around $120 and ranks A+ on the tier list, making it hard to beat for the price!

I don't live in the US, though, and the NZXT is a bit pricier. I could go for the MSI MAG A850GL for a similar price, but if the NZXT is really that much better, I might stretch my budget for it.

I noticed the Core Reactor II VE model is also ATX 3.1 but I've heard it's the value edition—do you think it's lower quality than the regular version?

If you've already got the 3.0 PSU, I wouldn't stress over switching to 3.1; it's probably not worth the hassle. But if you're still shopping, you might want to check out some cheaper options like the Montech Century II 850W—it's a solid buy.

Montech isn't available where I live. If I go for an ATX 3.1, should I consider the MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 II or maybe stretch my budget for the NZXT C850 Gold ATX 3.1?

I haven't bought it yet, so I'll check that out.
