Is it worth upgrading from a 3060 Ti to an RX 9070 XT with an i5 10600KF?

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card from a 3060 Ti to an RX 9070 XT, but I'm wondering if it's a good idea given my current CPU, which is an i5 10600KF. I know I might run into some bottlenecking, especially in higher settings, but I can cap my FPS at 120 until I get a better CPU in the future. What do you all think?

Yeah, your 10600KF is pretty good. I wouldn't worry too much about it bottlenecking unless you’re playing at really high resolutions. If you cap your framerate, you'll enjoy the benefits of the new GPU for a good while.

Absolutely, I think the upgrade is worth it. You'll get a significant boost in raw power and more VRAM, despite potential bottlenecking from your CPU. Plus, you have the option to upgrade your CPU later on, which will make it even better.

I’m actually planning to get a Ryzen 9600X when I can, so I should be set for a nice performance upgrade.

I just made a similar upgrade to the RX 9070 (not the XT) and I had to boost my CPU as well due to bottlenecking in multiplayer games at 1080p. If you can afford it, go for it; it's a noticeable performance leap.

I’m running the same CPU and I've done my research! Games at 1440p and above shouldn't be a problem at all. Check out this benchmark video for some insights: [YouTube Video](https://youtu.be/TXKyQYiLro8?si=rd6CqAVYpD3IjEdz). It really helped me.

For sure! The i5 10600KF is still a solid CPU. It might struggle a bit on ultra 4K settings, but for most games at lower settings, you should be fine for a while. I've seen people using older Intel processors getting great frame rates still.

You're right, there’s a good chance you'll experience some bottlenecking, depending on your games. If you can swing it, though, the upgrade is definitely worth it for the performance increase.
