I'm looking to upgrade my CPU since I recently bought a used RTX 3080, and I'm experiencing a significant bottleneck with my Ryzen 5 3600. I'm considering the 5700X, but the 5700X3D is double the price where I am. Is it worth spending the extra money on the 5700X3D, or will the 5700X be sufficient for my needs?

You might also consider going for a 5600 or 5800X/XT instead. They perform similarly to the 5700X3D but usually at a better price point, especially if budget is a big concern right now.
Upgrading to a 5600 or 5700X is a noticeable step up from the 3000 series. While the 5700X3D is a step higher, don't underestimate the 5700X's ability to handle 1440p gaming at high settings with your 3080. You should be hitting nice performance numbers with it, but if you're going for the very highest refresh rates, keep an eye on potential bottlenecks too.
Honestly, unless you're stuck on a super old setup (like 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen), it might not be worth staying on AM4. Moving to AM5 with a 7600 or 9600 could give you more longevity in the long run. The X3D was a better option when it was cheaper, but prices now are a bit rough, and those upgrades could last you longer.
Going AM5 would mean new mobo, CPU, and RAM, which is more than I'm looking to spend right now, I'd prefer the 5700X3D for 280€ and stick to AM4 for a few more years.
I'd go for the 5700X, it's a solid upgrade! The price for the 5700X3D is tough to justify right now since, for a bit more cash, you could switch to an AM5 motherboard with a newer CPU and DDR5. It's a good time to rethink your whole setup if you're willing to invest more down the line.
I see your point, but saving that 60-80 bucks is definitely not enough to cover a whole AM5 build. If you're going AM4, I'd recommend going for the 5700X3D to prevent losing potential performance.
In Europe, the 5700X3D isn't as readily available and is pricey online. If you're looking to upgrade, consider selling your old CPU and components to help fund a new build. For about 450€ total, you could grab a cheaper CPU like the 7500F, along with a new board and RAM. That could set you up nicely for future improvements.
I can still find the 5700X3D in stores for around 280€, while the 5700X is about 160€. I'm struggling to see if the price difference is justified.

So, if I'm gaming at 1080p with the 5700X, do you think it'll alleviate any bottleneck issues, or should I expect some limitations still?
