Hey everyone! I'm debating whether to sell my current AM4 setup and make the switch to AM5. Right now, I have an R7 5700X3D, a B450 Aorus motherboard, and 16GB of 3600MHz RAM, paired with a 9070XT for gaming at 1440p. I got the 5700X3D at a great price, but I'm considering selling my CPU, motherboard, and RAM. The upgrade would cost me around $80-100 more to get MSI B850, a 9600X, and 32GB of 6000MHz CL30 RAM. I'm hoping for a new platform that has better resale value in the future while not sacrificing much performance. What do you all think?

Honestly, your 16GB of RAM is a bit limited for today’s games, so an AM5 upgrade with more RAM for an extra $80 sounds like a good move. Plus, you’d get a more efficient CPU, which can save you money in the long run.
If you're not planning to upgrade your GPU significantly, the performance boost might not be worth it. If you're into gaming, the 5700X3D is still a solid choice compared to the newer chips unless you have a productivity need that justifies the switch.
I say keep your CPU! The upgrade might not give you the benefits you’re looking for. Just focus on making the most of what you already have.
Honestly, AM4 still holds up pretty well! Check out this video I found. It might help you think about sticking with what you've got. [link]
Your plan seems reasonable! Going AM5 should keep your performance stable, with only slight improvements. It’s a good investment for future resale value, too.
